Academy of Culinary Arts Cambodia Hits High Note

In a visit this week from the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism, H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, the ACAC exceeded expectations.

This was the first visit the Ministry of Tourism (MOT) has paid the academy and the delegation included three secretaries of state from the MOT and staff. The private sector was also represented in the delegation, including ACAC Board members from the Hotel Association, Chefs Federation and Restaurant Association as well as Mr. Luu Meng, Cambodia’s infamous chef and entrepreneur.

The visit included a full campus tour and a specialty meal prepared by ACAC Dean, Markus Kalberer along with Cambodian chef, Matang.

Several times throughout the visit, H.E. Dr. Thong Khon noted that the ACAC hits a very high, international standard. The Minister also shared about the time he visited an international hospitality training school in Ticino, Switzerland with Shift360 founder and CEO, Pierre Tami. The Minister was highly impressed by the facility in Switzerland and praised Shift360 for replicating such high Swiss culinary standards in Cambodia.

The Minister and his delegation left happy and proud of what the ACAC has achieved – putting Cambodia at the same level as other ASEAN standards.
